Bart has worked in the financial services industry for almost 20 years. He started as a management consultant for KPMG Consulting, working with Fortune 100 companies like Honda, AT&T and Wells Fargo, before making the leap from corporate to personal finance as an advisor with Edward Jones Investments. He founded his own firm at age 26 with zero clients and working out of a one-bedroom 600 sq ft apartment, and now manages more than $70M in assets. He merged his practice with David in 2013 and now covers the Fredericksburg office on Tuesdays and Thursdays (and by appointment).
Bart is considered "the surgeon" of Mayfield Stevens, leveraging his engineering and economics background to focus on investment management and financial planning. Bart has achieved the prestigious Certified Financial Planner™ designation and devotes most of his energy towards meeting with clients to develop and manage their portfolios and plans. Being independent allows him to lead with planning and filling in the details with investments solutions later- the exact opposite of some competitors with quotas to hit and products to push, requiring them to focus more on selling than serving.
Bart spends most of his time outside of the office... pretty much working. But he does occasionally find the time to pursue his passion for both endurance sports and adventure travel. He also holds multiple advanced personal training degrees while coaching endurance athletes worldwide under his Delphi Human Performance Systems brand. He is a eight-time IRONMAN® triathlon finisher.
